This desk stand is designed specifically to hold a 13 inch, 4th generation MacBook Pro.
It will not fit earlier models, nor will it fit a 4th gen 15 inch model or a 13 inch model with a case.
If you are interested in seeing stands of this kind for the 15 inch and/or earlier models, let me know.
PRINTING REQ
Supports should not be necessary due to the height of the arc angle.
When printed with an Ender 5 Pro with eSun PLA , I experienced very little issue at the top of the arc.
After thoroughly sanding the piece, I was able to virtually eliminate these erro.
FINISHING
Because plastic is softer than the aluminum the MacBook is made of, this should not pose a threat to your MacBook's shell.
However, if you'd like a softer finish, I would recommend starting at 200 grit sandpaper and working your way up to 600. Sand all over the iide and outside of the piece for best results.
The finish shown in the pictures was achieved by priming the piece with Rust-Oleum Self Etching primer, wet sanding after 30 minutes with 1000 grit, and then finishing off with Rust-Oleum 248927 wheel paint.
