This is the iconic asteroid or "planet" from the novel Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. I designed this using MATLAB R2016a on a topographical map I create by myself, using some book cover arts as guide. I didn't read the book, so some details may be wrong or may be absent. The baobab trees were created using Customizer, customised from this, and later processed with Windows 3D Builder. I made them as smaller veio of the adult tree, although a 30cm juvenile doesn't look like that. A 2 meter diameter asteroid like this one would blow up in a short bolide if it ente the atmosphere. The model is scaled in five scales: 1:10 , 1:15 , 1:20 , 1:32 (G-scale), 1:40. In the smaller scales the stems of the trees may not be printed; support is always needed for the trees and the glass. The file's names must be read like this: b612_1_x_.stl is 1 : x . So _1_20 is 1:20 or one in baobab tree generated with Customizer (left) and its softened and elongated veion (right) I spend part of my time making these models, letting them available and free for everyone.
